Summit County and the Vail valley is home to some of the best skiing in the world! Centrally located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains you'll find several world class ski resorts. There is so much terrain available it would be impossible to ski it all in a one or 2 week vacation. There is ample variety for all skiers abilities from the fluffy groomed beginner slopes, to the challenging steeps, moguls, and hidden powder in the trees long after the last snowfall.

If you're looking for great skiing this is the place. Vail, Beaver Creek, and Breckenridge are consistently rated among the top 10 ski resorts in North America. With Colorado's high elevation and ample snowfall you can ski from late October through mid June. The best skiing is generally found in February and March, however great skiing can be expected any time between mid November through late April. Locals and budget wise travelers often look for the early and late seasons for substantial savings and to avoid the high season.

With the nearly 100 lifts serving hundreds of runs you rarely will have a crowded slope or have t wait in lift line more than a few minutes. Most of the time you can ski right on the lifts, and with all the high speed lifts you're at the top of the mountain in just a few minutes.
