Public Recreation Centers are located in Silverthorne and Breckenridge. These centers, which operate year-round, offer a wide variety of indoor recreation facilities for swimming, basketball, exercise classes, climbing walls, racketball, and lots more.

Lots of facilities await workout fiends and couch potatoes alike. Among them: indoor and outdoor tennis courts, (including two clay courts); racquetball; weightlifting; multiple swimming pools (one with a water slide); steam room; Jacuzzi; sauna; dance and aerobics studio; cardiovascular equipment; skateboard park; soccer; rugby; softball; two rock-climbing walls, and child care services. But you may have to catch your breath - the center sits at 9,300 feet.

Water recreation is the big draw, with an indoor lap pool, deep pool, kiddie pool and a slide pool complete with a thrilling 140-foot plunge into the water. A spa, sauna and steam room are also available. Weightlifting, basketball and racquetball are popular, and the center has cardiovascular and circuit weight equipment as well as a physical therapy program. Amenities include a family locker room and a community room. Weekday child care is available
