There's Gold in them there hills was the cry from the miners in the early days of Colorado history.
It's this gold mining heritage that formed many of Colorado's early beginnings.
The towns of Breckenridge and Aspen trace their roots back to the mining days.
Nearly lost and abandoned these towns have been revived by white gold - more commonly known as snow!
But fortunately the gold mining era has not been forgottten and you don't have to look very hard to
see traces of Colorado's mining past.
At the Country Boy mine in Breckenridge
you can see for yourself one of the best preserved mining sites in the state of Colorado and explore
the buildings that made The Country Boy Mine a legend. The only real mine tour in Summit County where
you can see real miners working and operating real equipment -- and go over 1,000 feet underground!
