SummitNet Activity Guide - Backcountry Skiing

Summer Guide
Winter Guide

New to Summit County are two backcountry cabins managed by Sumit Huts Association that provide backcountry skiers with a unique way to experience the high country. The Colorado high country in and around Summit County offers both spectacular scenery and a variety of easy to extremely challenging backcountry skiing. It is strongly recommended that travellers into the backcountry plan ahead and be prepared as weather conditions change quickly in the area. Maps, guide books and good advice is always available from the local mountaineering shops.
