Air Transportation to the Summit County & Vail Valley Resorts
Search Airfare (public and private contracted rates)

Denver International Airport - DIA - Airport Code "DEN"
DIA is the largest airport with by far the most flights to Colorado. DIA is one of the newest airports in the world and is extremely efficient in it's operations. Located on the northeast side of Denver, the airport is a two hour drive/shuttle to the Summit resorts and another half hour to the Vail resorts.

Colorado Springs International Airport - Airport Code "COS"
Flying to Colorado Springs is a good alternative to DIA. Located on the east side of Colorado Springs, the airport is about a three hour drive/shuttle to the Summit County and Vail Valley resorts.

Eagle County Airport - Airport Code "EGE"
Eagle County Airport is very convenient to the Vail resorts but has a limited number of flights, mainly during the ski season. Located just off I-70 in the western part of Eagle County the airport is a 20 minute drive to Beaver Creek and a 30 minute drive to Vail Village. For Summit County destinations plan on 1 to 1.5 hour drive.

Community Transportation
Summit County
The Summit Stage provides free bus service throughout Summit County. Buses have ski/snowboard racks in the winter and bike racks in the summer. Route maps and schedule information is available online. Breckenridge also has a free bus that runs during the ski season that takes skiers & snowboarders to the slopes.

Vail
The Town of Vail's free bus provides visitors free transportation throughout Vail. Buses have ski/snowboard racks. Route maps and schedule information is available online.

Avon/Beaver Creek
The Avon/Beaver Creek Transit is the only intra-city bus service in the Vail Valley. All buses are equipped with ski/snowboard racks in the winter and bike racks in the summer months. The Town of Avon has its own town shuttle as well as a shuttle that takes skiers & snowboarders to the Beaver Creek ski slopes.

Limousine, Shuttle and Charter Services
Ground transportation is available from all of the airports to anywhere in Summit County & the Vail Valley. Advance reservations are required.

Rental Cars & Parking
Car rentals are normally available at the airport, and in Summit County. Be sure to make a reservation prior to arriving! Rental cars are normally equipped with snow tires in the Winter, but it's wise to ask and be sure. Also, don't forget to request ski racks! Driving is easy in Summit County and the Vail Valley with excellent roads that are nearly always well maintained. If you plan to venture off the major routes, however, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended as the snow plows clear the major roads first! Winter driving conditions can be expected from October through the end of April.
